The following is a description of what we did  during the English day that we had at Ort Geula school in Tel-Aviv. Students in the 10th grade took part in the English day including a hearing impaired class. Students were divided into four groups thus we had four stations. Students moved from station to station according to the plan below. The time given for each station was 25 minutes. At the end of the day we had a  group breakfast prepared by students in one of the stations) followed by a competition. Below are the rubrics for the competition and a description of the activities.

The  stations:

1. Students design a name and a logo for a healthy restaurant. See Appendix A and Appendix A1.

2. Students watch a video how to make a potato salad and the group writes in English how to prepare the dish that is shown. This task was adjusted according to the different levels of the groups. See Appendix B.

3. Students design a menu for their healthy restaurant. See Appendix C.

4. Students prepare some of the dishes that will be served at the joined breakfast. See Appendix D.

Competition:

All four groups meet after having the joined breakfast. Two students from each group present for five minutes their three products to all the students who participated in the English day.

Three members of staff are the judges and the school principal declares the winning team and gives the prize (the prize at our school was a pizza and drinks which was given on the following week).
